How has COVID-19 affected PT Academy?

We continue to operate as normal and lead the industry from the front. PT Academy is the leading fitness education company in the UK and over the last three years we have invested heavily in the use of digital technology for our learners to use. This has enabled us to pioneer new exciting pathways all of our learners can benefit from. The most notable of which are four new practical assessment pathways which literally cover any training scenario. Who are the PT Academy?

Established in 2009, PT Academy is the UKs leading fitness education company. Delivering out of 200 plus venues nationwide we also over the most coverage, more than any other training provider. Since the inception of our company all of our tutors and mentors are active personal trainers – a policy we adapted which has been replicated by nearly all others.

When can I start?

You can start as soon as you’ve completed your application form and paid your first payment.

Whats the enrolment process?

It’s really simple, we email you a document which you read and then click to sign. Once you’ve signed, the document is automatically sent back to us so you don’t have to. Once we receive it, we send you your documents to start straight away.

What’s the differences in the packages you offer?

We will always have some form of solution for you, from online to immersive. Our flagship program is our 1 to 1 mentoring where you receive an active personal trainer guiding you through your course.

Why are you so cheap?

We are the most competitively priced in the UK. We are the only company that offers a 10% price beat on all courses.

How do I start?

What locations do you offer?

We have mentors and venues in almost every major town and city. We also have fantastic partnerships with health club operators which means our access to venues is the largest in the UK.

How does the course work?

It’s simple, once enrolled, you will be sent your work or login to the app, you work through the units in your own pace and submit them to be marked and receive feedback. You then book your practical with your assessor or assessment day or self tape depending which package you choose.

When do I get my certificates?

You will receive these once you have passed and paid in full. Your external certificates will be issued by the OFQUAL regulated awarding organisation we work with. They have a vigorous quality assurance process in place to ensure the highest standard.

How quickly can I complete?

This is down to you, you can take as little or as long as you like.

How often do I meet the trainer?

If you opt for the home study, you meet them on the development days and if you opt for the flexi learning, you liaise with the mentor on when and where to meet them.

How has COVID-19 affected workbook marking and quality assurance?

The marking of your workbooks or the quality assurance of them will be not be affected by the current situation. Our PT Academy team are still working remotely so we can still provide assistance in any way you require.

How has COVID-19 affected the CPD courses ?

Those CPD courses that were online have not been affected at all such as program design, assessment design, business skills etc
Due to the government closure of gyms some courses will be unavailable until the gyms re-open.
The CPD courses in no shape or form effect the level 2 gym instructing or level 3 personal training qualifications which can be done 100% online at home.
We are working with partners to enable access to some courses for example we have teamed up with TRX to offer our learners a complimentary place on the online TRX course.

I'm with another training provider and not happy, can you help ?

Of course we can. Unfortunately we know there are training providers who exist that do not serve their learners well. Should you be unhappy with the service or they are not allowing you to proceed due to COVID, please contact us and you can complete any remaining units with us and you will only be charged for the units you have to do.

My training provider has closed due to COVID and I want to be ready for when lockdown is over, can you help?

Of course we can. Should your training provider not allow you to proceed due to COVID, please contact us asap and we will get you back on track. You can complete any remaining units with us and you will only be charged for the units you have to do. We will also apply accredited prior learning for any units which you have done before. As always the process is simple and effective.
