How celebrity personal trainers are taking centre stage…

Over the years we’ve all seen celebrities quickly bounce back with post-baby bodies, produce huge weight loss transformations and reach peaks of physical fitness. However, the one person instrumental in all these things has been a strong personal trainer who rarely gets the limelight…until recently.

Are personal trainers the new celebrities?

More and more celebrity personal trainers have transitioned into celebrities themselves, gaining huge social media followings and earning big bucks when it comes to salary. Whilst most of these personal trainers are very secretive when it comes to what they charge their celebrity clients, their net worth speaks for itself. Joe Wicks who’s recently been helping Adele with her weight loss journey is now worth £12 million and Tracy Anderson, a trainer to the likes of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow is worth a whopping £100 million.

What’s it really like training a celebrity?

America’s highest-paid personal trainer Gunnar Peterson said the main difference is ‘Scheduling them! HA! The people I work with are pulled in so many different directions, their schedules are in constant flux. Fitting in the workout is a logistical challenge! Their bodies, however, respond the same as everyone else.’ There is also a lot more support and mental wellbeing and trust involved, with Ted Ryce saying ‘I think the biggest thing that separates training celebrities versus a non-celebrity is they are more vulnerable..and I also found that they needed to be mentally challenged too.’

How often do celebrities use personal trainers?

Where most of us would only use a personal trainer once a week Celebrities also have a much more frequent personal training routine, Melissa Alcantara, Kim Kardashian’s trainer was recently interviewed on Joe Wick’s podcast where she revealed she trains Kim five to six times a week. Kim also discovered Melissa on Instagram and catapulted her from a local PT struggling and in debt into celebrity stardom with just one DM.

What’s the moral of this story?
