Development Day Level 2

  

Practical development days have been designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to be able to instruct a range of exercises and activities to prepare you for the Level 2 and 3 practical assessments at a UK national training centre.

You’ll learn the following:


Level 2 Gym

Development Day Level 3

  

Practical development days have been designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to be able to instruct a range of exercises and activities to prepare you for the Level 2 and 3 practical assessments at a UK national training centre.

You’ll learn the following:


Level 3 PT

·      Advanced training methods

·      Cardiovascular training methods

·      PNF stretching

Programme Design CPD

  

Being able to meet your clients’ fitness goals is paramount to exercise adherence. This comes down to being able to design a programme of structured activities that can meet the client’s needs. In this one-day course you’ll learn how to write exercise programmes for any level of client and how to progress a client on to the next level by manipulating training variables. 

By the end of this course you’ll be able to:

· Perform a client needs analysis and use goal setting techniques

· Write client-specific training plans for any level of fitness, to include resistance and cardiovascular exercise

· Manipulate programme variables to progress a client towards their fitness goal

· Understand how to incorporate advanced training methods into a programme for greater results

Combined Boxing 1 & 2


Boxing Fundamentals and Advanced (Level 1 and 2 combined). This one day course teaches you the fundamentals of boxing for fitness and is perfect for personal trainers wanting to expand their repertoire of skills to use with clients.

By the end of this course, you will have the confidence and skill to:

· Instruct correct punching and pad holding techniques

· Deliver boxing for fitness workouts in one-to-one and small group scenarios

· Develop and instruct boxing combinations for all levels of fitness

· Design basic conditioning workouts to include speed and power drills


This course will also expand on the activities learned in boxing fundamentals. It is ideal for personal trainers who have already completed 'boxing fundamentals and want to advance to the next level of boxing for fitness.

By the end of this course, you will have the confidence and skill to:

· Design more advanced and intricate boxing combinations and routines

· Design conditioning workouts techniques using advanced speed and power drills


Core CPD

  

This one-day course incorporates the latest scientific research and thinking into Core Training. It’s perfect for personal trainers, sports coaches and healthcare professionals.

By the end of this course, you’ll have the confidence and skill to:

· Turn on the core in all three movement planes

· Learn the difference between type 1 and type 2 motion and how it shows every exercise possible for the core

· Appreciate how the core influences the rest of the body and how the rest of the body influences the core

· Recognise why the proprioceptors are the key to understanding core function

· Take a functional approach to conditioning the core

· Build core conditioning programmes that challenge every level of client

· Keep your clients motivated, injury-free and excited about training with yo


Kettlebells CPD

  

Kettlebell training combines cardiovascular, flexibility and strength fitness, all into one. Unlike using dumbbells, the kettlebell’s centre of mass is positioned away from the grip. This makes it suitable for ballistic activities such as swinging and jumping. Kettlebells are popular with gym members and fantastic for building strength in the lower body, abdominals and lower back, turning clients into a calorie-burning furnace.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence and skill to:

· Understand the health and safety considerations, including contraindications, when using kettlebells

· Instruct a kettlebell-specific warm-up

· Instruct a range of simple to complex kettlebell exercises such as the KB swing, clean and Turkish get-up

· Identify key technical flaws in clients and know how to correct them

· Include kettlebell training alongside other training methods

· Design kettlebell training programmes

Suspension Training CPD

  

Suspension training uses a suspension trainer and the person's body weight to achieve results. Its versatility and portability have made suspension training popular with clients, and a vital part of the personal trainer's toolbox. 

By the end of this course, you’ll have the confidence and skill to:

· Securely set up and adjust the suspension trainer for a range of different exercises

· Safely perform hundreds of exercises that build power, strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, and prevent injuries - all at the intensity you choose

· Write effective exercise programmes for any level of client

Business Skills CPD

  

If there’s one skill a personal trainer needs to master, it’s business skills. In this one-day course you’ll learn the fundamental business management skills needed to become a successful personal trainer.
