6th June 2017

New directives issued by Head of operations mean the folowing changes will take place as of 30th June 2017. All flexi and home study learners will have the theory sections of their Learner Achievement portfolios internally. They can only progress to the practical preparation once the theory sections are complete. For ease, all learners must send each unit once it has been completed and not the entire LAP. These units need to be sent via email to etutor@ptacademy.com. Feedback will be given to the learner within 48 hours. Any support needed for learners while they complete their theroy units will be provided by our inhouse delivery team that can be accessed via support@ptacademy.com

PT Academy are excited to announce we are now working with 1st4sport! 1st4sport has been specialists in the fitness industry since 1989 and is accreddited by OFQUAL and SQA. Following this new partnership PT Academy will be offering 1st4sport accreddited Weighlifting qualifications.

We have been made aware by customers that several of our competitors are ill informed regarding the regulatory bodies and awarding organisations within the UK and are offering learners incorrect, conflicting and confusing information. To clarify for them and for you, OFQUAL are the regulatory body for qualifications within the UK. OFQUAL regulate the awarding organisations that offer the qualifications. Within the fitness industry there are several awarding organisations that offer fitness qualifications. They include: NCFE, 1st4Sport, City & Guilds, Industry Qualifications, Pearsons, Active IQ, VTCT, YMCA Awards to name a few. The awarding organisations have been established for different lengths of time. Awarding organisations are not regulatory bodies however will have their own quality assurance procedures and policies in place to ensure that training providers are delivering qualifications as they should be.

All the qualifications offered by PT Academy are regulated by OFQUAL.

We are pleased to announce a corporate partnership with Pure Gym. Pure Gym are the UKs largest gym chain with 158 clubs. The partnership will increase the number of venues that PT Academy delivers its courses from. In line with this partnership we are now working with new awarding organisations. One of the awarding organisations is NCFE. NCFE is the UKs oldest established awarding organisation and is recognised and regulated by OFQUAL. Their expertise and experience will ensure that we are continuing to deliver the highest standard of fitness qualifications produced in the UK.

We are pleased to announce that we will now be working with NCFE and VTCT, two of the UKs oldest and most reputable awarding organisations. NCFE has been established for over 150 years and VTCT since 1962. Both have years of experience of being at the for front of qualification development in the UK.

Due to the continued expansion of PT Academy, as of September 2016, we will no longer be offering Active IQ qualifications to any new learners. Please note this does not affect existing learners.
